Community

We have not officially given up on Community....but we are close.  Some of the story lines became either too unbelievable or too frustrating to follow.

However, Topless Robot discovered this tidbit a little while back...

"Please note that these three scenes come from different seasons. Meaning someone uttered the word "Beetlejuice" once per season on Community. And if you still aren't sure why this is awesome, please look at the window behind Annie when she says the third "Beetlejuice."

As Community creator Dan Harmon tweeted, ""The Easter egg that took three years to hide. Our show is TOTALLY ACCESSIBLE.""

Thoughts on Comics

Snell recently posted these thoughts from Paul Grist on his site: Slay, Monstrobot of the Deep!

I whole-heatedly agree.  I like my comics monthly.  I like the anticipation of a new television show.  Even when we buy a season's worth on DVD, we still parcel them out slowly...

We are still trying to watch this, but have fallen a few weeks behind.

Found this on tumblr the other day and made me laugh. We'll have to try and catch up soon.

Happy Birthday!

Today the wonderful Maggie Lawson turns 29! She plays the incomparable Juliet O'Hara on the USA Network's underappreciated "PSYCH!"....though the last couple episodes of season three were underwhelming and the season four opener was average!

Currently in our top three for television shows....and the only one that airs on a network we do not receive! Waiting for Season Three on DVD to drop in price (Target has it at $39!) and Season Four episodes On Demand seems to be taking FOREVER!!!

"I make the weather!"

So we had a special guest at lunch today. Local celebrity and WPTZ NewsChannel 5 Weather Plus Meteorologist Tom Messner (AMS and NWA Seals of Approval) was at school to speak to a few classrooms. He stopped in early for some pizza and some conversation.

Anyone locally knows that Mr. Messner has a very sunny disposition on television. It is even more evident in person. He put up with a few lame jokes about being responsible for the weather but then jumped right into a rather raucous lunch time conversation.

As we all departed to gather our students from the lunch room, I asked if Mr. Messner would mind posing for a quick picture with me. I also asked if he minded if I posted it here. This led to Mr. Messner asking about our use of Twitter and Facebook. Being a Twitter fan, I jumped on the conversation and had a good 10 to 15 minute chat.

So, go ahead and follow him on Twitter here and maybe check out his wife's body of work here.
