T-Shirt Tuesday: July 31, 2012

Given that today is the trade deadline for Major League Baseball, I thought I would take a "group photo" of all of my Sox tees at the same time.

I was saddened to realize that ALL of the players I like enough to get their shirts are no longer on the team.  I still have my customized shirt which when I wore it to school one day several of the younger students in the building thought I had played for the team at one point!  Admittedly I was in far better shape than I am today but still I enjoyed the compliment!

And as I was loading all of my tees back into my dresser, I found another one from the '03 Division Series!

Not sure whose shirt I will get next...and since it looks like the Sox made NO significant moves today, I'm thinking I might have to wait a year to grab one...though a Pedroia would be tempting!

T-Shirt Tuesday: July 24, 2012

We went up to school today to spend a few more hours setting up my new classroom.  Today's shirt was one I bought for myself from "Santa" last Christmas.  I also got a bumper sticker with the same phrase, which I just really like.

A mixed day at school....I finally found the desk I use (in another classroom!) but still have some chair issues...Still lots of time until the year starts...

Yesterday was a GREAT day...I'll post some pictures of our adventure later today...

T-Shirt Tuesday: July 10, 2012

Today's picture is the first T-Shirt Tuesday picture not actually taken on the day of the posting!  Last Saturday night we went with The Armchair Squid, Wikes and their daughter to a local balloon festival.

This stylized "Let the wookie win!" T-Shirt was the first geeky apparel my wife ever bought for me!  It is easily 10 years old at this point.

Not the most flattering photo I have ever had taken of me, but Nan did her best....

T-Shirt Tuesday: July 3, 2012

"Firefly"!  

The kids gave this to me for my birthday last year, right after we discovered the show.  My wife and I have birthdays 1 day and 1 year apart.  We are the "same" age for one day a year!  We spent our day last year in Montreal and the kids brought my presents with them for me to open.  

I had lunch with some former colleagues today.  One remarked that she liked the shirt and commented on how prolific the fireflies were in Vermont this year.  I pointed out that the shirt was referring to a television show.  She essentially gave me a "No duh" and told me how much she had liked the show!  Totally out of character for her and reaffirmed why I cherish her friendship.

T-Shirt Tuesday: 6/26/12

Not much to do on a cold, rainy Tuesday except lie on the couch and read comics....though truth be told if it was nice out, I might still be doing the same thing!

Today's t-shirt was given to me by the high school students who oversaw this year's 5th and 6th grade play at my school.  I was one of the faculty "advisers".  It was a lot of fun.  I've been wanting to do a play myself for quite some time now and this really piqued my interest.  However, time is a luxury I don't seem to have AND every day I teach it feels like a mini-performance with a captive audience, so I've got that going for me.

T-Shirt Tuesday: 6/19/12

This is my newest t-shirt!  I received it on Fathers Day, though my loving family nicely bought me a "large" that we had to exchange for an XL.  I also got a matching bumper sticker that is on the hatch of the Jeep.

This photo is part of Nan's upcoming blog post about the major landscaping she is undertaking this summer.  The device is a manual sod cutter she rented!
