Aww... I think you get a pass for 26 but 27? You've NEVER listened to a guitar solo and thought, "Wow, I wish I could do that!" Heck, pick an instrument and Marc will teach you to play "Hot Cross Buns."
After I posted, I thought knowing how to play either "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" (a la my recent post) or "Something" (a la Paul at "The Concert for George") on the ukulele might be kind of fun...
Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" is supposedly a really easy guitar riff to learn. (In fact, I Googled it to confirm, and there's a YouTube video that has it first in a series of easy-to-learn riffs.) ... Of course, that assumes you like "Smoke on the Water." Doesn't everyone? :D
You know, Kate...you may be right! At my last (small) school, my classroom was right next door to where the music teacher had his lessons. I heard the opening riff for that song a THOUSAND times my last year there!
